BOEKER SOLINGEN knife made of TIRPITZ Damask Steel
BOEKER SOLINGEN KNIFE MADE OF TIRPITZ-DAMASK-STEEL
NON-STAINLESS - UNIQUE HANDFORGED IN SOLINGEN GERMANY
A piece of history comes alive: The Tirpitz, sister ship of the legendary Bismarck, was the largest battle ship ever launched for the German Navy. Norwegian divers have salvaged for Boeker in the fjord parts of the specific armour of the Tirpitz. From these pieces the Boeker damask forger forges exclusively an exceptional damask with fascinating history.
The pattern "Great Pyramid" in 300(!)-Layers characterizes this powerful blade made of handforged damask steel and makes this knife to a highlight of any knife collection.
The combination of the Tirpitz-steel with carbon-toolsteel creates also an extremely claimable damask steel, with a hardness of 61 degrees Rockwell the blade will grown every task.
The handle made of high-aluminum AlMgSi1 (it has through the silicon proportion significantly higher quality than the usual AlMg3) is hardcoat-anodized and thus the knife is safe in the hand. The changeable Clip (Tip-up/Tip-down) allows you to wear the knife in the desired position. As a material for the handle insert with original Tirpitz coat of arms has Boeker chosen domestic walnut due its superior properties even as use of wood shaft for long arms has a long tradition.
This knife combines in a unique way the history, the tradition and the modern technology, completely manufactured by hand in the BOEKER manufacture in Solingen Germany, the world-known city of sharp blades.
