The Klaas knife of the year 2009 was developed in collaboration with the famous damascus blacksmith Markus Balbach. The blade is forged by hand from about 300 layers of steel and iron by Markus Balbach. Nowadays only very few people in the world are able to forge knives with this technology. The artful Damask patterns of the blade make each knife a unique piece.
The handle is made of high-quality, beautifully grained olive wood. Over 100 working steps are required before this pocket knife is put together with a lot of experience and craftsmanship.
